JD Capital Supports Tkiyet Um Ali’s National Ramadan Campaign
Amman, Sept. 2007 – Stemming from its belief in the philanthropic mission of Tkiyet Um Ali to combat poverty in Jordan, Jordan Dubai Capital (JD Capital) signed a cooperation agreement with Tkiyet Um Ali to sponsor 202 food packages to be distributed among poor families in Dibbeen and nearby villages during Ramadan. Each package consists of food items to last the family for a whole month. Also by virtue of the agreement, signed by HE Samir Z. Al-Rifai, JD Capital CEO and Mr. Laith Al Qassem, Board Member at Tkiyet Um Ali, JD Capital will sponsor a Ramadan tent in the governorate of Ajloun.
This partnership reflects Tkiyet Um Ali’s interest in strengthening its ties with the private sector and affirmation of the principle of social solidarity HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein aimed to enhance through establishing Tkiyet Um Ali. The agreement also reflects JD Capital’s concern for promoting philanthropy in the Jordanian society and belief in Tkiyet Um Ali’s mission to help the poor and disadvantaged.
During the signing ceremony, Al-Rifai reiterated JD Capital’s mission saying, “At JD Capital, we believe in our role towards our society to which we belong and for which we work. We are keen to provide direct support to local communities nationwide and consider this initiative a step towards combating poverty in the Kingdom.”
For his part, Al Qassem said, “We are proud with this cooperation and partnership with a leading company like JD Capital. This is not our first cooperation; and we aspire to work together to combat hunger in Ajloun in order for all the inhabitants of the region to feel the benefits of progress and development and become part of future partnerships with the company.”
JD Capital will strive to achieve these goals during Ramadan by participating in philanthropic programs aimed at helping alleviate extreme poverty and meet the needs of poor and disadvantaged communities. This partnership reflects JD Capital’s confidence in Tkiyet Um Ali’s programs, which adopt different methods in addressing the problem of poverty.
HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein established Tkiyet Um Ali in 2005 in the memory of her late mother Queen Alia Al Hussein “Um Ali”. Ever since, Tkiyet Um Ali has extended relief services to more than 100,000 beneficiaries nationwide. HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein chairs board of directors and oversees all matters related to the management and development of the institution to ensure the quality of programs and services.
