Our Contributions
As Jordan Dubai Capital (JD Capital) grows, so does our responsibility to give back to the community and improve the quality of life for all Jordanians. Each year we strive to strengthen our existing social responsibility programs while adding new initiatives. We focus on those areas in which we feel we can make the most difference; social welfare, environmental preservation and social empowerment.
We have concentrated our efforts in such vital endeavors as the Tkiyet Um Ali Project, Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, the Hikmat Road Safety Initiative, the King Hussein Cancer Center, the Jordan River Foundation, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, the Greater Amman Municipality “Baiti W Baitak” Initiative, the Greater Amman Municipality “Kuluna Ahel” Initiative, Mabaret Um Al Hussein, Teachers’ Housing Project Fund, the Child and Family Protection Association and other initiatives related to environmental conservation, media support, university students’ aid and job creation.
Giving Back
JD Capital contributes annually to the Tkiyet Um Ali Projects that aim to feed the most impoverished families across the Kingdom. Since 2006 JD Capital has been a leading supporter of Tkiyet Um Ali’s various campaigns including the “Akrem Wa At’em” campaign, and the "Mawaed Al Rahman" campaign, in order to help improve living standards within the Jordanian community and achieve positive change across all social segments.
JD Capital participates and supports various activities and events that are conducted and hosted by King Hussein Cancer Foundation.
Stemming from JD Capital’s belief in creating true partnerships with the local community, JD Capital’s investment arm in the real estate sector - JD Properties - has entered into partnership with the Jordan River Foundation to create a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility project in the area of Dibeen at an actual cost of JOD 1.5 million. The partnership aims at elevating living standards, preserving the environment, and empowering the community to benefit from the economic boom that will be witnessed in the area. This comprehensive project that focuses on Dibeen and the surrounding areas includes the adoption of several schools through the Madrasati Initiative, offering scholarships to high school students in a number of fields through Al-Aman Fund and other specialized initiatives for the less fortunate youth, providing training programs with a focus on individuals who are dependent on the National Aid Fund and the Zakat Fund, presenting new employment opportunities, developing the skills of local labor pools via training programs to help them improve their livelihoods, in addition to funding opportunities for cooperative organizations to become owners of their proposed projects.
JD Capital signed a silver sponsorship agreement with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE). By virtue of this agreement, JD Capital would have early access to potential innovative businesses that graduate from the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship, allowing JD Capital to play an instrumental role in fostering Jordan’s future leading knowledge-based industries.
As part of its belief in the importance of developing human resources and encouraging innovation in a manner that prepares for future leadership based on strong foundations that ensure future success, JD Capital supported the King Abdullah II Fund For Development’s Executive Education Program held in cooperation with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University entitled “Leading for the Future: The Middle East in a Changing World” and held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center at the Dead Sea between the 17th and 21st of January 2010.
In 2008 and in accordance with HM King Abdullah II's directions to assist needy community groups, and in line with the company’s commitment to contributing to the improvement of citizens’ standards of living, JD Capital supported the Food Bank campaign, which was part of the “Kulluna Ahl” initiative launched by the GAM during the holy month of Ramadan to help poverty-stricken families face the burdens of increased living expenses. The company distributed food packages to 500 families and provided monetary support to an additional 60 families.
Building on its positive partnership with the GAM during the holy month of Ramadan, JD Capital also extended support towards the “Baiti W Baitak” initiative launched by GAM to provide monetary support to families in need.
As part of JD Capital’s belief in the importance of reducing the number of casualties and deaths resulting from car accidents, JD Capital signed off a cooperation agreement in September 2009 with Hikmat Road Safety, through which JD Capital and the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) cooperated to establish the "Al Huda Park" in Al-Jubeiha area in order to provide the park's visitors with an ideal and safe environment to play in.
Established in 1951, the Mabarrat provides full care, education, and vocational training for children between the ages of 6-18 years. The Mabarrat is a model for community-based family care that provides a secure and healthy environment that promotes self-reliance and assurance for children in the orphanage. Each year, JD Capital provides support to the Mabarrat Um Al Hussein charity bazaar which contributes substantially to the different activities and initiatives carried out by the Mabarrat.
In addition to these programs, we have participated in projects with Muntada Al Wasatiya, Operation Smile Jordan and the Young Muslim Women's Center. JD Capital also participated in several local and international activities and initiatives, such as the Dead Sea Marathon, the Amman International Marathon in support of King Hussein Cancer Center, and the Gaza fundraising and charity campaign. The company celebrated several health campaigns such as the International Health Day and the International No Smoking Day, and organized a flu shot campaign for its employees.
We feel a deep pride in our country and our people. We share a fundamental belief that our success is Jordan's success.
